FAQ

Questions we answer the same way every time

Honest answers to the questions admissions hears most. We have organised them by topic and included one section we are particularly proud of: "What we do not cover" — the limits we are transparent about because pretending otherwise hurts learners.

Admissions

  • No degree required. The SOC Foundations Bootcamp and Threat Intelligence Fundamentals are open to absolute beginners willing to put in 10-12 study hours per week. Intermediate and advanced tracks expect at least 6 months of analyst-adjacent work or completion of one of our beginner programmes.

  • For beginner tracks, no. For intermediate and advanced tracks, yes — a 30-minute scenario walkthrough with a mentor. We use it to set your expectations honestly. We are willing to recommend a different track or no track at all.

  • Yes. Online tracks (Threat Intelligence Fundamentals, Analyst Career Launchpad, Cloud Incident Handling) are fully remote-friendly. In-person bootcamps are based in Seoul. We do not handle visa sponsorship.

Format and time

  • Bootcamps: 25-30 hours/week including study time. Intensive tracks: 35+ hours/week. Online evening tracks: 8-12 hours/week. Weekend intensives: a full weekend with limited social plans afterward — they are tiring.

  • Yes for lecture and walkthrough content. Live lab sessions are not recorded — they are interactive by design and the value is in participating. Mentor 1:1s are confidential and never recorded.

  • For lecture content, you watch the recording. For lab sessions, you join the make-up lab the following week. We hold one make-up lab per week. If you miss more than two lab sessions in a cohort, we reach out and discuss whether the current cohort is the right fit.

Outcomes

  • Ready to interview for Tier-1 SOC roles? Most learners are. Guaranteed to land one? No, and we will not pretend otherwise. The hiring market for junior analysts in KR is uneven and we tell you that during admissions.

  • We offer career coaching, mock interviews, and CV review through the Analyst Career Launchpad. We do not run a placement agency or sign exclusivity deals with employers. Decisions about who to recommend to whom are at the coach's discretion.

2

Pricing and refunds

  • We offer a 14-day cooling-off window from cohort start. After that, refunds are pro-rated against time elapsed in the cohort up to 50% completion. After 50%, no refund — but you may transfer your seat to a future cohort once, free of charge.

  • Yes. We offer 2-pay or 3-pay structures with no interest. We do not offer income-share agreements or deferred-tuition products tied to placement.

What we do not cover

  • We do not deeply cover: penetration testing tradecraft, malware reverse engineering beyond triage, container forensics, vendor-specific certifications outside the listed tracks, or hardware/IoT security. We have considered them and decided to do less and do it well.

  • No. The academy is defender-focused. Our red-team injects are scoped to support detection and response training, not to teach exploit development. If your goal is offensive work, we are honest that you should look elsewhere.
